At the precise moment Matt and Elizabeth Giri and their fleet of eight rescue dogs were passing by Bonnie's parents' house in Pinehurst No.6, I happened to emerge from the house to retreive something from my car. As soon as she saw me, Elizabeth waved a friendly greeting from the road and identified her husband and herself as nearby neighbors. Then, with the unguarded amiability that my Connecticut-born partner and this District of Columbia native have now come to expect from Carolinians (we hope never to get 'unspoiled' in this regard), the woman we'd later learn was co-owner of Precison Home Builders, offered to drop in on Bonnie's folks from time to time "to see if they need anything." That chance meeting with Matt and Elizabeth in 2002, brought us two new friends and, a few months later, we asked Elizabeth to build our new home in Fairwoods on Seven.
